If you were at the 5K benefit run sponsored by the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce on Sunday, you saw a lot of Farmhands on the course — twelve of us, to be exact. The annual Super Hero 5K is the culminating event for the Chamber’s Healthy Business Challenge, which is a program that encourages businesses to cultivate a healthier workforce in Loudoun County. Great Country Farms is on the committee that runs that challenge. Last year we had a sponsor’s table at the event, so runners could learn about the farm after the race. This year we decided to show the colors in a different way: we wore them! We were the largest corporate contingent on the course, and the most diverse in terms of age: our youngest member was 9 and our oldest was 56. Three of us placed in the top three in our age group, thanks to a steady diet of vegetables from Great Country Farms.
Come and eat with us.
Come and run with us.
Proceeds from this year’s race were donated to Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded Warriors.
