Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions about hosting birthday parties at Great Country Farms:
Can I Reschedule or Cancel my Party?
*Cancellation & Refund Policy | In the event you are unable to host your birthday party, due to inclement weather or other various causes, we will be happy to reschedule your event to a mutually agreeable date based on Great Country Farms availability. In the event you are not able to reschedule, we will provide a full refund minus any catering menu payment and a $100 cancellation Fee. Refunds are provided in the form of a Great Country Farms Gift Card.
Is the Birthday Child included in the the Guest Count?
Yes! | All guests attending the party including adult guests will need an admission ticket. Our Birthday Party Packages include the 1st 15 guest admission tickets and you may add on additional guests when you book your party. We can adjust your final guest count based on the number of guests actually attending the day of the party.
Can I bring Balloons and Decor?
Yes! | You are welcome to bring balloons, table covers and decor to fit your party theme. We do offer red check table cloths ($15/table cover) if you would like to add those to your venue. Each venue has six 6-foot picnic tables and 2 6-foot plastic service tables. We thank you for not stapling anything to our historic barn structures.
Can I bring my own food?
Yes! | You are welcome to bring your own non-alcoholic drinks, food and dessert with everything you need to serve those items. Don’t forget the birthday candles and a lighter! We do not have power in our venues to support crockpots, coffee pots or other appliances. Please bring chaffing pans and sterno (or purchase some from us) if you need to keep food hot in your venue.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
No! | Our ABC license is via Bluemont Vineyard and enables us to offer a selection of Bluemont Vineyard Wines and Henway Hard Cider for your adult (21+) guests but prohibits guests from bringing in outside alcohol. You are welcome to bring your own non-alcoholic drinks, food and dessert with everything you need to serve those items.
Can I bring a Grill?
No| We do not allow grilling on site. You are welcome to add on a bonfire pit to roast hot dogs or marshmallows. And we are happy to provide roasting sticks or s’more kits.
What if I have More Guests than my Venue Seats?
No Worries! | The Sunflower Hut seats up to 40 guests and the Corn Crib seats up to 50 guests. If you have a few more adults than your venue can seat, we can provide 5 extra white bistro chairs to use on the lawn by your venue. If you have more than 5 guests over the seating capacity of your venue, please contact us to see if we have a larger venue available to transfer your party to so all guests can be accommodated inside your open air venue.
Can I extend my party time in my venue?
Yes! | You are welcome to add on an additional hour in your venue for $100. Just let us know and we can set this up for you.
Can my guests come earlier or stay after the party time ?
Yes! | Your guests are welcome to stay after the party time in your venue to enjoy the farm play area and any pick your own options until the farm closes for the day. For 2pm or 6pm parties times, guests are welcome to check in early for your party and enjoy the farm play area and pick your own and then meet you in your venue for the 2:30pm or 6pm celebration.
Are venues Air Conditioned or Heated?
No | Our historic barn venues are shaded but open air. Guests should dress for the weather and plan to be outside for the party. On warm days we encourage you to have lots of iced drinks and to visit our Irrigation Station Splash pad to enjoy a cooling mist. On cold days, we suggest hot cider and coffee from our bakery and adding on a bonfire to wather around to warm up.
